Upper Tinicum Lutheran hosts Harvest Fest, open house

Posted

88 Upper Tinicum Church Road, Upper Black Eddy, hosts a Harvest Festival and Open House Sunday, Oct. 20.

The day’s events will begin at 10 a.m. with a worship service and music by local band Waterfront Blue in the sanctuary. Waterfront Blue also will perform during a reception featuring handcrafted cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by an old-fashioned baked chicken luncheon with homemade side dishes and desserts.

There will be tours of the 1893 church building and the adjacent Upper Tinicum Cemetery, where more than 90 veterans of The War of 1812, the Civil War and WWI and WWII are buried.

Presentations by representatives of the Lord’s Pantry as well as local officials also will take place. A free-will offering of cash or canned goods will be collected.

The event is supporting The Lord’s Food Pantry in Ottsville and the mission of the church, which is commemorating the 100th anniversary of its charter this year. Built in 1893, the church sanctuary possesses rich acoustics and is a sought-after venue for concert performances, including the Lenape Chamber Ensemble.
