Turnabout is fair play in election audits

After 2020’s General Election, voting certification boards in every state certified their results as accurate, Joe Biden won the presidential vote. Since then, Republicans led by Donald Trump, have unsuccessfully tried every tactic, including an attack on the Capitol itself, to overturn the results.
Now several Pennsylvania Republican lawmakers and former lawmakers, some of whom may be running for governor, are repeating the Big Lie that the election was stolen from Trump. State Sen. Doug Mastriano, Lou Barletta, Doug McSwain, Sean Parnell and Jeff Bartos are some of the Republicans seeking to waste more of Pennsylvania’s funds seeking an unnecessary audit of Pennsylvania election results.
They cite allegations of fraud, without producing any evidence to support the allegations. What they are doing is hoping to ride Trump’s coattails in their attempt to be elected.
One Republican lawmaker, Sen. Dan Laughlin (R-Erie) may have stated the problem succinctly. “I don’t believe that they are going to believe the results of the audit unless it finds what they are hoping for.”

Finally, a Republican who recognizes what is best for Pennsylvania, not what is best for the GOP.
Maybe Democrats should file allegations of voter fraud in every state that voted red in the 2020 election. Turnabout is fair play.
