Thanks to many people Pickle is finally back

Posted

Last week, after three-and-a-half long days missing, my cat Pickle finally answered my calls and came to the front door.

He’s an indoor cat, without a chip or a collar, handsome, friendly and engaging, with no way for anyone to know where he lived. But he did return, perfectly clean, fed and watered and as if he’d had a nice little visit with someone kind.

I don’t know what notice finally reached whomever was caring for him, but I thank all the people who helped me get out the word: Marny from Save The Pets, who originally fostered Pickle, came out and searched and called and posted his info online; Wes and Ellie, neighbors I just met, came with their baby and toddler and searched the poison ivy-filled woods, and also posted on Facebook; and a Buckingham Police officer, waiting for speeders at the intersection of Routes 413 and 202, called it in immediately.

Baci Restaurant posted a sign, as did Buckingham Pizza, the UPS Store, Whitman Pharmacy, WaWa, Taylor Made Farm, the Lighthouse Baptist Church, Waters Heating and Cooling, and Pet Supplies Plus.

All expressed their concern when I put the signs up, and when I went back to collect them, shared my relief and joy.
Pickle will have a chip and a collar from now on.

Judith Sutton, Buckingham
