Two District One Class 6A tournament teams fell to the same host, Spring-Ford, Tuesday in Royersford.

After taking a 9-5 lead into the bottom of the seventh, the No. 19 Central Bucks South baseball team saw its season come to an end in heartbreaking fashion when Spring-Ford’s Dylan Ducharme hit a walk-off grand slam to lift the No. 1 Rams over the Titans 11-9 in playbacks. The Titans had 10 hits, led by Matt Boyce, who was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

The Titans, who finish the year at 13-10 (8-8 SOL), opened districts with a 4-1 victory over No. 14 Perkiomen Valley followed by an 11-10 upset of No. 3 Bensalem to advance to the quarterfinals, where CB South fell to No. 11 Neshaminy 5-2. Five 6A teams advance to PIAA playoffs.

In softball, No. 8 Quakertown was held to just three hits as No. 4 Spring-Ford topped the Panthers 2-0 to advance to the district championship game against No. 11 Neshaminy.

After earning a first-round bye, Quakertown opened districts with a 4-1 triumph over No. 9 Methacton last Thursday. The next day, the Panthers (19-4, 13-2 SOL) solidified their spot in the PIAA tournament with a 5-2 quarterfinal victory over No. 1 Pennsbury. The Panthers battled No. 7 Haverford for third place in a playback game Wednesday (results unavailable at press time). Six softball teams from Class 6A advance to states.
