Shared Teachings:The Womb

Posted

He was beautiful, smiling, glowing in health. As we danced, he blessed me with sage, whispering, “You are being reborn.” He was Love. I had witnessed him grow into Love as he passed from this world, more than two decades ago. My father had reached for me in dreamtime, during the tumult of my spiritual awakening.

In the process of the prolonged birthing of my first child, I stood in the shower feeling vulnerable and venerable. I was part of something as old as time. I knew in that moment that I too was represented by the many carved, stone images of fertility figures. I too, was ancient, round, and being drawn toward the center of the Earth. I felt her enormous pull.

Through my second birthing, it became evident to me that despite my loving attendants, I was alone with the life force. With a yielding collaboration with Mother, I let go.

The act of creation, the physical manifestation of life has been a continuum, yet it remains the most extraordinary process and experience. Giving birth is the most delicate dance between the physical and non-physical.

Touching the thin veil between what we refer to as life and death, presents these two sides of the same explosive life force. It is everything, and it is nothing. This loving surrender, serving as a conduit of creation for the Divine Mother, is an amazing privilege.

Collectively, the humanity of planet Earth is being presented with this same amazing privilege. We have the opportunity to rebirth our species into a higher dimension, embracing a new paradigm of love and wisdom.

We are responsible. The “old” is dysfunctional, yet the “new” has yet to be constructed. It will remain formless unless we each undertake the personal actions necessary to change the vibrational energy of the planet, from fear to love.

We may not witness the outcome in our lifetime, but as the Greek proverb states, “A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit.”

The dark fires that are ravaging our mother planet, and many souls upon her, are frightening. The suffering is enormous. This is a collective rebirth, reliant upon each individual’s actions.

As lawyer-activist Valarie Kaur states,“What if this darkness is not the darkness of the tomb, but the darkness of the womb?”

Can we embrace the darkness of the unknown, collaborate with our Mother, and transform our fear into a womb of creation by birthing a new paradigm? Can we be Love?
