RIGGI will protect the public’s health

Pennsylvania has been my home for my whole life, and like many Pennsylvanians I am passionate about the health, safety, and success of the state.

Pennsylvania is one of the largest polluting states in the country and something must be done to stop big companies from destroying our state and our health. That is why we should enter the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).

RGGI is a bipartisan program with the goal of reducing air pollution. The RGGI program puts a cap on pollution for power plants and each year these caps are lowered. I want to thank state Sen. Steve Santarsiero for supporting RGGI during the last session, and I want to encourage state Sen. Todd Polinchock to do the same.
