Quakertown teen dies in crash

A 17-year-old girl from Quakertown was killed in a motor vehicle crash Sunday evening on John Fries Highway (Route 663), between Am Drive and Weiss Road in Milford Township, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The teen, who was wearing a lap and shoulder safety belt, was driving a 2019 Toyota FRS northbound when she crossed over the raised concrete traffic island and struck a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling southbound head on, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:16 p.m. by emergency service personnel.

The driver of the second vehicle, Bryce J. Kimmel, 19, of Zionsville, and one passenger, a 17-year-old girl, also from Zionsville, were not injured, police said. A second passenger, Krya A. Trauger, 19, of Green Lane, sustained a suspected minor injury, police said. All three also were wearing safety belts.

Police were assisted by St. Luke’s EMS and Milford Township Volunteer Fire Co.
