Plumstead

Burglary: at a residence in the 5700 block of State Park Road May 26. During the theft, the actor(s) stole two Gazelle electric assisted bicycles and a battery powered DeWalt weed whacker. The bicycles are valued at $3,000 each and were last seen at the residence at 8:30 p.m. May 25. Anyone with any information about the burglary is asked to contact Plumstead Officer Robert Lawn at rlawn@plumstead.gov or 215-766-8741.

Arrested: Michael A. White, 35, on April 20, after he was extradited back to Bucks County on an IAD (Interstate Agreement on Detainers) from the State of Ohio. On May 17, White waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property and is awaiting his trial date.
A warrant for White’s arrest was issued Aug. 28, 2018, by District Judge Gary Gambardella.

At approximately 3:34 a.m. Aug. 27, police were dispatched to G2 computers in the Cross Keys shopping center for the report of an audible alarm activated by the front glass breaking. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the front glass window was broken out and the interior storage room was ransacked.

Other responding officers stopped a vehicle, which was driving on North Easton road just north of Silo Hill Road. While speaking to the driver, an officer recognized an item in the backseat that was similar to the one that was used about a month earlier in a burglary at the same business.

Shortly after stopping the vehicle, the operator, who was identified as White fled the scene. Officers pursued the vehicle into Quakertown, where they lost sight of it. Video surveillance shows that White’s rental vehicle was at G2 computers when the burglary was committed. The current estimated value of theft is over $11,000. White is currently on probation and parole for similar crimes in Georgia and Alabama, respectively.

Charged: Ian T. Thornton, 48, of New Hope, with simple assault and harassment in connection with the assault of a woman, which occurred in the 7000 block of Ferry Road at approximately 11:36 a.m. May 31.

Further investigation revealed Thornton had an outstanding warrant issued by the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office. Thornton was arraigned before District Judge Michael Petrucci and remanded to the Bucks County Prison on 10% of $20,000 bail.
