Paxson Hill Farm sets 20th annual Art in the Garden

Posted
Paxson Hill Farm will host its 20th annual Art in the Garden exhibit and sale on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, rain or shine.

Ninety local fine artists and fine craftspeople will present their work outdoors in Paxson Hill’s extensive gardens. Among the numerous media represented are painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, fiber and book arts, jewelry, woodturning, and more.

This year’s featured artist is Sheila Watson Coutin, a well-known ceramist from Stockton, N.J.. Her work has been exhibited at numerous venues across the Bucks County and Hunterdon County areas and beyond, as well as in nearly every Art in the Garden.

Coutin has worked in many media, including photography, painting, fiber arts and woodworking. However, clay is the medium through which she expresses her “love of nature, my garden and the creatures that inhabit it,” she said. “Getting my hands dirty playing with clay remains a joy and a blessing.”

Saturday afternoon’s activities will include the Straight Ahead Big Band, led by David Osenberg and featuring Shantel Hubert on vocals. The band of over 20 local musicians plays everything from swing and big band to rock, Latin, and beyond.

Radio hosts from WWFM The Classical Network will be on hand both days with program details, membership information, music and more.

Visitors and patrons are invited to tour the various themed gardens of Paxson Hill Farm, which include sun and shade areas, water features, a hobbit house, and a boxwood maze ending in a gazebo offering a sweeping view of the countryside.

Paxson Hill Farm is located at 3265 Comfort Road, New Hope. There is a parking fee of $3, but no charge for admission. Food trucks will be available both Saturday and Sunday. For information and a list of vendors, visit paxsonhillfarm.com.
