Man charged in hit and run

Richland Township Police have charged a Milford Township man with aggravated assault and related charges after a Richland man was struck and injured by a motor vehicle in his front yard.

The accident victim, John Gruver, 70, was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, where he has undergone multiple surgeries, police said. After responding to a report of a man down in his front yard, Thursday, May 6, police determined that Gruver was struck by a vehicle in front of 225 Mill Road.

Police conducted an investigation and issued an arrest warrant Friday, May 7, for Joel McGriff, 40 of Milford Township. He was arrested Saturday, May 8, and charged with accidents involving death or personal injury, careless driving, failure to render aid or give information and related charges
