Illusions of Light shines at New Hope Arts

Posted

John Spears opens New Hope Arts exhibition year with an in-gallery exhibition designed to explore space and illusion, when architecture and art work together.

The 18 canvases curated by Rita Romanova Gekht, arranged as a viewer-centered experience, illuminate Spear’s method developed over his 45-year career. Large-scale images are created using both UV and LED light to reveal the vast array of colors and textures unseen in natural light.

Protocol limits 10 people at a time so viewers have the opportunity to interact with each piece while maintaining social distance.

Reservations are suggested; gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Information, reservations and protocols for the gallery are at newhopearts.org or 215-862-9606. Illusions of Light, which runs through March 21, is also an online exhibition.

New Hope Arts is located at 2 Stockton Ave. New Hope.
