Aark Wildlife hosts Spring Open House

Aark Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center hosts its Spring Open House 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 20 and 21.

Each year, Aark cares for more than 5,000 injured and orphaned animals, making it the busiest wildlife rehabilitation center in the Delaware Valley, and one of the busiest on the East Coast. Animals treated at Aark include deer, raccoons, foxes, turtles, groundhogs, and birds of all sizes including owls, hawks and other birds of prey.

The non-profit Aark is funded solely by donations. So, twice a year – spring and fall – the organization hosts a family open house to showcase its facilities, educate the public about the wildlife in their backyards, and to help raise funds to purchase the special milk, food and medical supplies vital to their mission.

In addition to animal encounters, the open hosue will feature self-guided tours, children's activities, face painting, picnic food, music and a special silent auction.

The open house will be held rain or shine at the Chalfont location, 1531 Upper Stump Road.

Admission is $15 a car (free for Aark members). For information, call 215-249-1938.
