New Britain man charged with homicide in death of girlfriend

A New Britain Borough man was charged with homicide Saturday, Sept. 8, after the body of his girlfriend was found Friday night in the rear of his vehicle, District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub said.

Jason K. Lutey, 42, of the 100 block of Keeley Avenue, was arraigned by video before Senior Magisterial District Judge Leonard J. Brown and held without bail.

Lutey is charged with killing 46-year-old Colleen Patterson, with whom he lived. Her body was found by police in the back of Lutey’s 2018 Toyota Highlander SUV outside his residence.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Lutey’s sister called 911 around 8:30 p.m. Friday, stating that her brother had killed his girlfriend at his home.

A Central Bucks Regional Police Department officer went to the residence and spoke to Lutey, who said Patterson’s body was in his vehicle, the affidavit said.

The officer found the body wrapped in white cloth with red stains that appeared to be blood, the affidavit said.

The incident is being investigated by Central Bucks Regional Police and the Bucks County Detectives, Weintraub said.

A preliminary hearing for Lutey is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 18 before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage of New Britain.
