Contemporary Figurative work on view in Souderton

“The Pool Club” is an oil on canvas by Barry Koplowitz.

Exhibit B Gallery at 105 N. Main St. Souderton, offers a featured artist exhibition of the Contemporary Figurative work of Pennsylvania artist Barry Koplowitz from July 20 to Aug. 11.

An opening reception will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 20, coinciding with Souderton’s “Third Friday” town-wide celebration.
The show, “Inner World and Outer World” features oil paintings and drawings that take a glimpse into the nature of human interaction and the way individual human inner life relates to the inner life of others – or itself.

Koplowitz’s work shows people in normal moments of life but focuses on what is happening within them – or between them.

“It’s about the people and not just the paint,” he said.

Koplowitz’s work is known for controlled yet bold brushwork and skilled use of color. His work balances colorful and dramatic lighting along with “the subtleties that make his work feel natural and real.”

His focus is the interactions between people and their environments.

The Exhibit B Gallery is renovated from an old Cigar Factory. During the exhibition, a portion of the gallery continues to show the work of the other artists that Exhibit B Gallery represents. The gallery also offers art classes.
