Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall stops in Bucks

The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall®, a 3/5-scale replica of the 2-acre wall on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., arrives in Penndel for a three-day commemorative event July 14 to 16.

The Wall will be on display from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. July 14 to 16, at the Penndel Memorial Ball Field on PFC John Dalola Avenue. The tribute is organized by the Wall in Bucks County, an arm of the nonprofit Penndel-Hulmeville Memorial Day Parade, Inc.

Opening Ceremonies will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday, July 14. A Twilight Ceremony honoring the 136 Bucks County dead is slated for 7:50 p.m. Saturday, July 15. A ceremony prior to the closing of the Wall will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 16.

Scheduled speakers during the three-day event include: Retired Col. Rick Kiernan, a highly decorated infantry officer and NBC10 military analyst from Warminster, John Rumsey, a multiple Purple Heart winner from Langhorne, Capt. David Christian of Bucks County, the most decorated Vietnam veteran, former eighth district U.S. Reps. Mike Fitzpatrick and Patrick Murphy, former Under Secretary of the Army.
