Exhibition celebrates the late artist Ty Hodanish

The late Ty Hodanish will be celebrated during a show of his works at his former gallery in Prallsville Mills on July 14.

“A Cheers to Life,” a special exhibit celebrating the life of the late Ty Hodanish, hosted by his spouse, Daniel, and The Art Angels, will be on view at The Art Colony Gallery from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 14.

For almost two decades, Hodanish had his studio in the Linseed Oil Mill, welcoming untold thousands to the Prallsville Mills complex and training more than 1,000 in his “Painting the Impressionist Landscapes” workshops.

With his studio right at the Mills’ front entrance, he earned the honorary position of “Guardian of the Mill,” a role he took seriously. At his passing, he was a member of the board of trustees of the Delaware River Mill Society, which oversees the Mills complex.

Hodanish’s use of color and the way he saw how light entered the world was “masterful and remarkable.”

The special exhibit in his beloved studio features works from the private collection of Daniel Filoramo.

The Art Colony Gallery is located at Prallsville Mills, along River Road on Route 29 in Stockton, N.J., at 22 Risler Road.
