Riegelsville Public Library receives $50,000 donation

The Riegelsville Public Library has received a $50,000 donation from an anonymous supporter.

It is the second time the library has received a $50,000 donation from an anonymous donor; the first was in 2014.

“It came out of the blue,” said Terri Randolph, library director, who discovered the check when opening the mail one day. “It’s just like three years ago when we received a similar donation.”

Randolph also noted that the donation equals more than 50 percent of the library’s annual operating budget.

Library funding has decreased in recent years, while use of the library has grown.
The donated funds will be used for general support including increasing the library’s materials purchasing budget, strengthening the endowment fund, and replacing aging furniture and equipment.

“We are thrilled and want to thank our anonymous donor for giving the library the opportunity to provide more services to the community,” Randolph said.

The Riegelsville Public Library, established in 1976, serves Riegelsville and Durham Townships and is a member of the Bucks County Library System. It provides print and multimedia resources for patrons of all ages in a professional and courteous environment.
