Israeli author speaks on friendship
with Palestinian woman

The Flemington Jewish Community Center will present its last Center Series event of the season at 10 a.m. May 21.

Noa Baum, author of “A Land Twice Promised,” will speak about her unlikely friendship with a Palestinian woman who lives in the Israeli-controlled West Bank.

Baum grew up in Jerusalem under the shadow of her family’s experience of the Holocaust and the Israeli wars. Her friendship with a former enemy sheds light on the humanity of all people.

The event is being presented in conjunction with the Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren County. Admission is $10.

The presentation will be followed by a book sale with books signed by Baum. Register at conta.cc/2bRwf4A or call 908-782-6410.

The Center Series, a programming initiative of the Flemington Jewish Community Center, brings readings, lectures, films, musical performances and plays to the community, with all programs open to the general public.

This past year, events included distinguished speakers and authors, a play, musical events and a cooking demonstration. There will be a new lineup next fall.

The center is located at 5 Sergeantsville Road, Flemington, N.J. Contact 908-782-6410 or visit flemingtonjewishcenter.org.
