Aldie Mansion grounds comes alive with summer concert series

Heritage Conservancy’s “Concerts in the Garden” outdoor summer concert series at historic Aldie Mansion, 85 Old Dublin Pike, Doylestown, returns for its third season.

Concerts for all ages will be held on the back lawn from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month from May through September.

Heritage Conservancy continues the tradition started by William and Martha Mercer, the original owners of Aldie Mansion, who held outdoor recitals on the lawn more than 85 years ago.

With the historic mansion as a backdrop, musical performances will showcase local talent. Each concert will consist of one 20-minute opener and two 40-minute main acts. Area singer-songwriter John Beacher has put together the lineup.

This year’s Concerts in the Garden will feature: Bronwyn & Justin, Dan Kassel, and Avi Wisnia on May 23; Gary Taylor, KD Brown Band, and Andrea Carlson on June 27; PD Brody, Carol Heffler, and Porter and Sayles on July 25; Tina Margot, Bethlehem and Sad Patrick, and Chelsea Mitchell of Dirty Dollhouse on Aug. 22; and Evan Miklosey, Christa and Neal, and JB Kline on Sept. 26.

Concerts are held rain or shine; in the case of inclement weather, the concert is brought indoors to Aldie Mansion’s ballroom. There is no need to register. Bring your own seating and picnic dinner, if you wish.

This event is offered free to the public thanks to donor support. The Provident Bank Foundation is the lead sponsor of Concerts in the Garden; Bucks Digital Printing and Linda and Phil Cacossa are singer-songwriter sponsors.
