Doylestown Health offers suicide prevention training

Doylestown Health hosts QPR Suicide Prevention Training as part of its 2018 Mental Health Series 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 23.

The 2018 Mental Health Series offers free educational sessions throughout the year. Local mental health professionals and community partners offer monthly presentations in an effort to educate area residents, provide resources and next steps, and work to remove the stigma surrounding mental illness.

QPR stands for “Question. Persuade. Refer.” These three simple steps may save a life. QPR gatekeepers are trained to understand and recognize a mental health crisis. They learn the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide and are given the language to talk about suicide. They can help with simple QPR steps and provide hope for those contemplating suicide.

The free QPR training is provided by the Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force.

Registration is requested by calling 215-345-2121 or visiting DoylestownHealth.org.
