BCCC offers electrical apprenticeship program at Upper Bucks campus

To meet the demand for more skilled workers, Bucks County Community College has partnered with the Independent Electrical Contractors Chesapeake to offer an electrical apprenticeship program starting this fall.

The training will be offered at the college’s Upper Bucks Campus, located at One Hillendale Road, Perkasie. The four-year program will enroll up to 25 students each year. The training includes technical instruction that is a part of the IECC registered apprenticeship program and is identified in the IECC curriculum.

The IECC is the mid-Atlantic chapter of the Independent Electrical Contractors Inc., a national trade association that offers professional training, education and support for those in the industry.

Those interested in applying for the program are invited to an information session from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at United Electric Supply, located at 1111 N. Broad St., Lansdale, Pa. Representatives from the IECC and Bucks County Community College will answer questions about the apprenticeship. Light lunch will be served.
