“Small Works Art Show,” a benefit for the Friends of Historic Flemington, takes place noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 8 and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 9 at 123 Main St., Flemington, N.J.
An artists’ reception will be held 6 to 8 p.m. April 8 with live music and refreshments. The public is welcome.
“Each artwork will sell for $100, with half going to the artist and the other half to Friends of Historic Flemington,” said Patricia Bally, co-organizer of the show.
The Friends organization welcomes donations, whether or not people buy artwork.
Suggested sizes of artwork are no larger than 11-by-14 inches; no smaller than 8-by-10 inches. Any medium is welcome – oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, pastel, photography, fabric, collage, etc. Artists must supply tabletop easels to display their works.
Artists must register by Tuesday, April 4. Artwork should be delivered on Friday, April 7 between 4 and 7 p.m.
The art show registration form and details are available at FriendsofHistoricFlemington.com (click on Art Show).
To request registration forms by mail or to make other arrangements for delivering artwork, contact Bally at 908-256-1108 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Friends of Historic Flemington supports adaptive reuse of the borough’s historic buildings. Its members believe the demolition of the Union Hotel and three adjacent buildings in the heart of the county seat’s historic district is misguided and unnecessary.
