New Hope Art League Juried Show calls for entries

The 2018 New Hope Art League Juried Art Show has issued a call for entries.

The show will take place at The Conservatory, 4059 Skyron Drive, Doylestown, and will offer up to $3,000 in awards.

Jurors will be Lisa Tremper Hanover, former CEO of the Michener Museum, and James Toogood, well-known painter an teacher at PAFA.

A portion of the show’s proceeds fund NHAL’s art scholarship for a local high school student. NHAL also collects food for the Bucks County Housing Group food pantry.

The entry deadline is 6 p.m. March 1. The accepted list will be posted online on March 15. Delivery of accepted work will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 2.

The opening reception for the show will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. April 6. The last day of the show will be April 20. Pick up of work is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 24.

NHAL will accept paintings, works on paper, mixed media, photography, digital art and sculpture. Anyone 18 and older may enter, member or nonmember.

Entries must be original art, not previously shown in NHAL or other local area shows or exhibits. No copies of artworks or artists. No works reproduced by any commercial process, no giclees, video, film, jewelry or fiber art.

A maximum of two pieces may be entered. Digital images must be: 300 dpi resolution, 1920 pixels on the longest side, JPG format only. No larger than 3MB file size.

One photo of artwork without showing the frame, a total of photos per artist. Sculptors only: two photos per sculpture, and each may be a triptych.
