The Doylestown Health Foundation recently received a gift of $60,000 from American Heritage Credit Union.

The multi-year commitment is a renewal of the Credit Union’s support of Doylestown Health.

The funds are designated for the purchase of advanced imaging equipment for the Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery at Doylestown Hospital’s VIA Maternity Center.

“We’re thrilled to provide Doylestown Health with the funds necessary to equip the latest technology into their practices. Supporting our local communities is directly correlated to our mission and we can’t wait to see how this gift enhances the VIA Maternity Center,” said American Heritage President and CEO Bruce Foulke.

With this equipment, X-rays and advanced imaging of newborns can be performed safely and efficiently without having to transfer the infant from the bassinette. Included is a specialized X-ray detector, which has a flat surface and is placed under the patient to help capture the image of the area being X-rayed.

This new detector is compatible with imaging systems throughout Doylestown Hospital and offers several benefits, including giving the medical team immediate access to images. The system can also create images using the lowest possible amount of radiation for the patient, particularly significant for infants.
