Patricia Walsh-Collins: Shared Teachings

The language of love

Where have you been? We have been searching for you. We catch fleeting glimpses, but the “Suits” secret you away from our awareness.

I hear you whisper through the wind and streams. Trees, rocks and animals are your allies, sheltering and protecting you.

I recognize your presence within me, as I cling to our precious bond, craving more. I yearn for you to be unshackled and set free, to be brought out into the light of day for all to know, given a seat at the table, and encouraged to re-establish your roots in our lives, and our futures. We need you to thrive.

You are the missing piece of our shared heart, of our unfulfilled, collective conscience. Individually, we perceive you, yet the “Suits” have kept you distant from us. They have shunned and disowned you, referring to you by another name.

You have elusively darted between moments in time, chancing a glance, hoping we would latch on to you. You have skirted the edges of our history for hundreds, if not thousands of years. Generations before us have played this reverse game of Hide and Seek, where you seek to be found, as you have been disguised and concealed in a manipulated game of control.

However, our sacred moment of transformation has arrived. The “Suits” are losing steam as the drum of the Earth’s heart beats louder and louder. They are stumbling. You too, are tired, weary of these perpetrators and their game. But, I beg of you, “Please press on!” In searching for you, we will bring an end to this game. We are desperate for your teachings.

Come out into the light. Let us have a look at you, cry over you, and make room for you in our hearts. We will banish all the lies. Your unveiled light will illuminate, heal, and give birth to a new way.

Come sit by me and let me introduce you to my children. They will hold you, and abide by you, and know peace when they close their eyes to sleep. They will shelter and protect you.

Sit with our children and share your stories. They are resilient and will grow with humility and fortitude, able to shoulder a passionate defense of you, through knowing your voice and speaking your words.

Together, we will rebuild. We will remember and honor you as the language of love.

Your name is Truth. I see you.
