The land of Narnia comes to life at Town and Country Players

“The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” opens at Town and Country Players, Buckingham, Nov. 17.

Town and Country Players, 4158 York Road, Buckingham, presents “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.”

Set in the land of Narnia, the show faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion (played by Jonah Reeder), his struggle with the White Witch (played by Amanda Weikel), and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia.

The children are portrayed by Logan Ambs as Edmund, Brenya Gommel as Lucy, Julia Levy as Susan and Reid Schuessler as Peter.

The intense action features chases, duels and daring escapes as the White Witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan.

All the memorable episodes from the story are represented in this dramatization by Joseph Robinette from the story by C.S. Lewis: the temptation of Edmund by the witch, the slaying of the evil wolf (Dave Levy) by Peter, the witnessing of Aslan’s resurrection by Susan and Lucy, the crowning of the four new rulers of Narnia, and more.

The supporting characters are: the unicorn (Carleigh Beck), the centaur (Emma O’Reilly) and other forest animals, along with Father Christmas (Michael McClintic), Mr. and Mrs. Beaver (Gary Beck and Wendy Graham-Hugo) and Tumnus the Faun (Jeff Pfeiffer).

The show is directed by Jesse Roy and produced by Kim O’Byrne-Rozman.

Tickets are $17 for adults and $10 for students with ID and children, at townandcountryplayers.org or 800-838-3006. Shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Nov. 17 to Dec. 2; Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Nov. 18 to 26.
