“Hamilton” star set to perform at Lehigh University

Zoellner Arts Center at Lehigh University presents “Hamilton” star Leslie Odom Jr. on Saturday, Nov. 11, performing a variety of hits from his career accompanied by a band.

Tickets are $70, $60 and $50 at 610-758-2787 x0, zoellnerartscenter.org or inzactix@lehigh.edu.

There is a free pre-show performance at 7 p.m. in the Zoellner lobbies with Tom Parker, jazz pianist.

Odom completed his run on Broadway, starring as “Aaron Burr” in the original cast of the blockbuster hit musical “Hamilton,” a role that earned him the 2016 Tony Award for Lead Actor in a Musical.

He is also a Grammy Award-winner as a principal soloist on “Hamilton’s Original Broadway Cast Recording,” which won the 2016 award for Best Musical Theater Album.

The Philadelphia native made his Broadway debut at age 17 in “Rent,” before heading to Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama, where he graduated with honors.

His debut solo album, “Leslie Odom, Jr,” was released in June 2016 on S-Curve Records and quickly rose to number one on the Billboard and iTunes Jazz charts.

Look for him this fall in Kenneth Branagh’s reimaging of Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Orient Express,” featuring an all-star cast.

He will be joined on stage Nov. 11, by Michael Mitchell (piano), Steven Walker (guitar), Orlando Le Fleming (bass), Senfu Stoney (percussion).
