Seminar explores overlooked causes of digestive distress

Dr. Michael J. Kaye, an area expert in functional medicine, will speaking about the “Six Commonly Overlooked Causes of Digestive Distress” and what you can do to treat them 10 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 17 and Dec. 2 at the Center for Functional Health in Sellersville.

The talks will discuss the link between gut microbiome and optimal health; the affect stealth infections have on health, how to test for them and what to do to get rid of them; causes of digestive inflammation that open the door to unhealthy bacteria; and how to take back control of one’s health.

Functional Medicine is individualized, patient-centered, science-based approach that empowers patients and practitioners to work together to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal wellness.

Functional medicine relies on a detailed understanding of each patient’s genetic, biochemical, and lifestyle factors and leverages the data to direct personalized treatment plans that lead to improved patient outcomes. By addressing root causes, rather than symptoms, practitioners become oriented to identifying the complexity of disease. Functional medicine utilizes personalized treatment plans that may lead to improved patient outcomes.
