BCCC hosts fall open house

Bucks County Community College is hosting an open house for prospective students and their parents 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 on the Newtown Campus, 275 Swamp Road.

The free event is based in the Linksz Pavilion – the hall connecting the Rollins Center student union building with the gymnasium – and includes tours throughout the campus.

Representatives from seven academic departments, which offer more than 80 majors that lead to either a two-year associate degree or shorter-term certificate, will be available to answer questions and provide information. Officials from the college’s financial aid and other student-services departments will also be on hand. Professors will be in attendance to answer questions, while student ambassadors will lead campus tours, including visits to the arts department studios and science labs.

Light refreshments will be served. Brutus, the Centurion mascot, will make an appearance, and student musicians will entertain as well.

Bucks is accepting applications for the spring semester that starts Jan. 21. There’s also time to register for accelerated courses that start Oct. 15 or Dec. 14. Tuition is $150 a credit for Bucks residents.

There is ample free parking. Admission to the event is free, but registration is requested. For information or to register, visit bucks.edu/admissions/events, call 215-968-8122 or e-mail admissionsevents@bucks.edu.
