Doylestown Target set to open in July

Posted

The highly anticipated Target in the Doylestown Shopping Center now has an “opening month,” said Sean Sablosky, the CEO of the Arrow Real Estate Services, which manages the center.

Construction of the approximately 74,000-square-foot building began last spring and Sablosky said Friday that Target is planning for a July opening.

“There are too many variables to provide an exact date, yet,” he added.

While Target is using the same square footage as the previous stores that occupied the space, it is adding its well-known red and white branding and signage.

Concerns over parking in the well-established shopping center on the northern end of the borough surfaced as soon as news of the store became public.

However, Sablosky said, Target is the fifth department store to occupy the same building space since the center opened in 1959, the last one being Bon-Ton, which closed in 2018. The demand for parking will be no different with Target, stressed Sablosky.

“It will be wonderful to have a full shopping center to serve the community,” said the CEO.

To reduce traffic and provide more convenience for shoppers, Target said it’s adding designated spaces along the Veterans Lane side of the center where people can pick up orders.

In a statement, Target said, “We’re excited to bring an easy, affordable and convenient shopping experience to new guests in the Doylestown community with this new Target store. As we get closer to opening the store, we’ll have more specific details to share including how the shopping experience will be tailored to serve local guests and the grand opening date.”

In addition to Target, the center includes more than 20 other businesses, such as Acme, Planet Fitness, Staples, as well as several restaurants.
