“Tuck Everlasting” opening at Music Mountain Theatre

Posted

Friday, May 3 will bring a new mainstage production to Music Mountain Theatre (MMT) in Lambertville, N.J., for a three-weekend run.

“Tuck Everlasting,” a musical based on the beloved novel by Natalie Babbitt, will be the sixth mainstage show of MMT’s 2024 season, running through May 19.

With a book by Claudia Shear and Tim Federle, music by Chris Miller, and lyrics by Nathan Tyson, “Tuck Everlasting” asks the question, What would you do if you had all eternity?

Young Winnie Foster, portrayed on the MMT stage by Lillian Irene and Nora Bella Stern-Kushnier, yearns for a life of adventure beyond her white picket fence, but when she becomes unexpectedly entwined with the Tuck family – patriarch Angus (Erik Snyder), matriarch Mae (Rachel Fingles), and sons Miles (Soren Madsen) and Jesse (Sky Carter), she gets more than she could have ever imagined…because the Tucks have a secret.

More than eight decades ago, the family drank from a spring. Ever since, they have not aged a day. In fact, they are unable to die at all.

Now, Winnie must help protect the family’s secret from those who would do anything for a chance at eternal life, including The Man in the Yellow Suit (David Whiteman), who has been doggedly pursuing the Tucks and their secret at all costs. She also has an extraordinary choice of her own to make: return to her life or drink from the spring and continue with the Tucks on their infinite journey.
