Newtown native publishes book on flags

Posted

Christopher Maddish, an expert vexillologist (flag studies), recently published his first book, “The Flag Revelation.”

Some people may look at all 50 American state flags and see an amazing collection of U.S. history woven in. But have you ever wondered if there’s more to America’s state flags than meets the eye? Beyond the colorful designs, a hidden realm awaits, where flags hold the keys to stories you never knew existed. There is a puzzle yearning to be solved in plain sight, all waving proudly across the United States.

Step into the world of “The Flag Revelation,” a traveler’s guide through the tapestry of United States history. Weaving stories of the 50 states, their flags, and the deep synchronicities that bind them, this journey is not just about flag history but also the essence of national spirit.

Recognized globally for his vexillological expertise, Maddish, a Newtown native and Council Rock alumnus, designed the Prime Meridian flag that was raised at the Greenwich Observatory and received the royal endorsement from Queen Elizabeth II. Maddish is a graduate of Penn State.

“The Flag Revelation” is available on Amazon.
